The history of l’CAR SYSTEMS
The company was founded in 1979 under the name of Cogestib, based in Saint-Avertin and specialising in software to manage vehicle dealerships and workshops.
On 1 January 2001, Cogestib acquired SPID Auto, a competitor of Opel, Toyota and Fiat. In 2002, I’Car DMS software was launched on the market, which allowed Cogestib to accelerate its growth. En 2005, the international group Sage acquired Cogestib and its 150 employees. Cogestib became Sage Automobile.
In 2013, Sage sold its Sage Automobile branch to the Argos Soditic group. On 21 June 2013, the company was renamed I’Car Systems, vending softwares for l’Car DMS dealerships and workshops. In February 2014, I’Car Systems became the European partner of PSA Peugeot Citroën. With a view to refocusing on its R1 activity (I’Car DMS), I’Car Systems sold its R2-R3 activity with its I’Car Mobility solution to the Fiducial group on 1 April 2015.
In 2018, Datafirst and I’Car Systems announced their merger. The aim of the operation was to become the leader in France and a major player in Europe, with 50,000 users.
In 2019, the Providence Strategic Growth fund purchased the entire undertaking.
